The QDC is aware of the potential benefits inherent in the development proposed for the Quonset Business Park®. The development controls represent a commitment by QDC to a well-planned business park, and recognize the growing scarcity of land, materials, and fuel, and increasingly more complex land use, environmental and pollution controls.

The QDC controls emphasize compatibility among industrial operations and compatibility between the Park and existing activities and character of the community, provide for efficient industrial and business operations, and maintain a human scale and values.

Public Notice of Proposed Rule-Making

Pursuant to the provisions of R.I.G.L. §42-64-7(16) of the General Laws of Rhode Island, and in accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act Chapter 42-35-1 of the General Laws, the Quonset Development Corporation hereby gives notice of its intent to amend Quonset Business Park Development Package, 7.0 Sewer Treatment System User Regulations.

The purpose of this adoption is to bring Quonset Business Park’s regulations in line with regulations promulgated by EPA in February 2006, and subsequently adopted by RIDEM.

The proposed regulation and concise summary of non-technical amendments are available for public inspection at http://www.qdcri.com, in person at Quonset Development Corporation, 95 Cripe Street, North Kingstown, RI 02852 or by emailing vharritos@qdcri.com or by calling Bill Harritos at 401-295-0044, extension 224.

In the development of the proposed amendment consideration was given to1) alternative approaches; (2) overlap or duplication with other statutory and regulatory provisions; and (3) significant economic impact on small business. No alternative approach, duplication, or overlap was identified based upon available information.
